AP New Ration Card Update : The Andhra Pradesh government is gearing up to deliver a special New Year’s gift to its citizens. Plans are underway to implement another major guarantee. During the elections, the TDP alliance pledged to issue ration cards to all eligible individuals upon coming to power. Staying true to its promise, the AP government is preparing to issue new ration cards.
The government has reportedly decided to initiate the process for granting these new ration cards in December. Applications for the cards will be accepted starting December 2, with the application window remaining open until December 28. This marks a significant step towards fulfilling the promise and ensuring essential benefits reach eligible citizens.
During the YCP government, ration cards were issued through village and ward secretariats. However, the issuance of new ration cards has been on hold for an extended period. In this backdrop, a significant number of people have been applying for ration cards since early January 2024.
Newly married couples, as well as those requiring updates or modifications to their existing cards, have been eagerly waiting, as ration cards are considered a key standard for accessing government welfare schemes. Recognizing this need, the government has now decided to issue ration cards to all eligible applicants, including those who submitted their applications during the YCP administration. This move aims to address the backlog and ensure that welfare benefits reach the deserving beneficiaries.
The process for issuing new ration cards in Andhra Pradesh is set to begin on December 2, with applications being accepted and reviewed until the end of the month. After thorough scrutiny, eligible applicants will be identified, and newly designed ration cards will be issued.
Reports suggest that the Andhra Pradesh government, under the leadership of CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu, is planning to present these new ration cards as a Sankranthi gift to the people of the state. These updated ration cards will feature advanced designs, including a QR code and photographs of family members, replacing the existing ones. This initiative aims to enhance accessibility and transparency in delivering welfare benefits.
